Larry Alexander, Chair of the Chamber's Transportation Committee, was invited to take a Union Pacific train ride from San Antonio's Sunset Station to the north commuter rail station near Highway 183 on Austin's north side. More than 50 people met for the ride that took interested commuters along tracks going through New Braunfels, Kyle, Buda, and Austin. The purpose is to give citizens a sense of what and where the commuter rail will handle and the possible route. After arriving in Austin the riders could continue on to Taylor or return to San Antonio.
