DIRECTORS ADOPT 2010 BUDGET
The Chamber Board of Directors at today’s regularly scheduled January meeting adopted a final budget for 2010 as per the Chamber by-laws. Last November, 2010 Directors met in a special meeting to adopt a preliminary budget. With 2009 completed and all revenues and expenses accounted for, Directors were able to view the 2009 performance and better estimate a budget for this year. One of the goals of the Chamber in 2010 is to begin building back reserves that were utilized for the Chamber remodeling project, completed in September 2007. The budget also contains funds for new projects as recommended by members and Directors from the NB 2020 surveys last summer.
AIRPORT BUSINESS PLAN UNDERWAY
Chamber officials attended a planning session last week with interested stakeholders at the New Braunfels Municipal Airport regarding the development of a business plan for the airport. R. A. Wiedemann & Associates from Georgetown, Kentucky are consulting on the plan. Six months is the scheduled completion. Issues identified as critical by the Chamber to the airport’s success include more direct highway access from IH-35 to the airport, expansion of the Central Texas Technology Center, and flexibility on the ownership and financing of properties at the airport. Your Chamber is also a participant in the San Antonio International Airport’s Vision 2050 Plans.
FUTURE LEADERS “ON THE RECORD”
Last week’s adult Leadership New Braunfels class day was entitled “Building and Selling the Image”. Class members also toured the Herald-Zeitung printing facility and radio station KGNB-KNBT. Facilitator for the day was Tiffany Soechting with Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch and an LNB alumnus Class of 2002.

Congressmen Henry Cuellar and Lamar Smith, State Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr., and State Representative Rafael Anchia.
