TOURIST FUNDS GET CLEAN AUDIT

Reed & Company, PLLC, Certified Public Accountants, have completed their annual audit of the Convention and Tourist Funds and reported those findings to the Chamber Board of Directors at today’s meeting.  According to Reed, the audit was “clean” using U.S. generally accepted auditing standards.  Changes in calendar year 2009 from the audit done in 2008 were primarily in the expenditure of funds for technology and emerging opportunities, and in 2008 a $650,000 contribution was made back to the city from the CTF Funds for the Civic Center expansion.  Net assets as of December 31, 2009 were $241,947.37.  The Convention and Tourist Fund is a separate financial account required by the agreement between the Chamber and the city concerning the use of funds for the hotel occupancy tax.  On August 6, 2009 the agreement was renewed until December 31, 2014.
