New Braunfels does not have a 4B Board.
The nickname was given to the New Braunfels Industrial Development Corporation (NBIDC) years ago and it stuck, said Michael Meek, president of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and advisor to the (often called 4B) board of directors.
“They received that nickname because when they were formed that was where you could find the law in either section 4A or 4B (of the state code),” he said. “They’re really a Type B board.”
