New Braunfels Sales Tax Collections Up 12.5% in April Report |

(New Braunfels, TX) -- The double digit sales tax increases continue for New Braunfels in 2012. Yesterday, the Texas Comptroller’s Office released the sales tax report for the collections made in April of this year, and it showed New Braunfels with a 12½% increase over April of last year. That’s an extra 196-thousand dollars that the city will add to its coffers over what was made in April of 2011. Total collections in April topped 1.7-million dollars. And for the year so far, the city is up 8.3% in sales tax collections, with total collections topping 10-million dollars, good for an extra 776-thousand dollars. As for Comal County’s report: Sales tax revenue in April of 2012 went up 7.8% over April of last year, with total collections just shy of 743-thousand dollars for the month. That’s an extra 54-thousand dollars for the county’s general fund. And for the year, Comal County is up 6.7%, with total collections at 4.1-million dollars for the year so far. Learn More...
