(New Braunfels, TX) -- Unemployment in New Braunfels dropped more than half a percentage point in April, according to data released Friday by Workforce Solutions Alamo (the San Antonio office of the Texas Workforce Commission). The April jobless rate for the city of New Braunfels came in at 4.8%, down 6-tenths of a percent from the 5.4% reported in March. And Comal County saw a similar drop, going from 6.3% in March to just 5.7% in April. That means both New Braunfels and Comal County registered unemployment rates lower than the 12-county Alamo Area (which was at 6.1% in April), and lower than the state’s jobless rate of 6.9%.
