(New Braunfels, TX) -- It looks like First State Bank, based here in New Braunfels, will soon be going by a new name, after its parent company agreed to a merger with Victoria-based First Victoria National Bank.

The Austin Business Journal reports that financial terms of the merger were not disclosed, but once complete, First State Bank (and its 5 locations in and around the New Braunfels area) will begin operating under the First Victoria National Bank name.

First State is a division of Capitol Bankshares Inc, a Smithville-based company that the Austin Business Journal reports was founded in 1895 and which recently reported 270-million dollars in assets.
