Blue Bell Creameries was awarded with the Texas Manufacturing Star Award by the Texas Workforce Commission Chairman, Tom Pauken, on Wednesday.

The award recognized Blue Bell's positive economic impact on manufacturing in both Texas and the Brenham community. The ice cream company has partnered with Blinn College for a Skills Development Fund job training grant for its employees, which provided advanced skills for 720 new and incumbent workers and has made significant contributions to the college's technical education training center.

More than 1,850 workers are employed by Blue Bell in Texas.
