Discover why automotive suppliers are taking a "second look" and
deciding to locate
their operations to New Braunfels.
According to TIP Strategies, a respected Austin, Texas - based economic
development research and consulting firm, "New Braunfels is well-positioned to
attract Toyota suppliers. Based upon its location on I-35, proximity to
San Antonio, ability to draw upon a regional labor force, new training facility,
variety of real estate options, and economic development tools, New Braunfels is
at a competitive advantage relative to many communities in Texas."

TIP Strategies also authored a pre-development plan for the
city-owned Municipal Airport on behalf of New Braunfels Utilities, also
city-owned. The airport is located just off State Hwy. 46 and has hundreds
of acres of city-owned industrial land ready for development. The plan is
available upon request.
Freeport was adopted in the city of New Braunfels and Comal
County in 2004, giving you "Double Freeport" status for all goods and
inventories shipped out of Texas within 175 days of processing or receiving.
Both local school districts are considering adoption of freeport in 2005, which
would give "Triple-Freeport" status.
Workforce training took a giant leap forward in 2004 with the
opening of the Central Texas Technology Center (CTTC). The CTTC is
city-owned yet operated and maintained by the Alamo Community College District
(ACCD), the same college system based in San Antonio working with Toyota on
their training requirements. The CTTC is dedicated to providing customized
employer-based training "on-demand". Phase II of the school is being
planned. (See Testimonials)
The city of New Braunfels has an economic development sales tax
corporation dedicated to helping automotive suppliers locate operations here with various
incentives. Annual revenue exceed $2 million. The New Braunfels
Industrial Development Corporation (NBIDC) contracts with the Greater New
Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, Inc. for professional recruiting services.
The Chamber serves as the "one-stop shop" for your relocation needs.
In addition, as another example of the "pro-business"
environment here, an economic development initiative known as Forward New
Braunfels was started last year, raising over $500,000 from local businesses,
individuals and organizations to supplement the communities efforts in helping
industries locate here.
In 2004, the Home Depot Supply chose New Braunfels for their new
customer service center after a nation-wide search. The center will open this May
and employ 350. (See Testimonials)
Also in 2004, Senior Flexonics Pathway, an expansion joint
manufacturer, added jobs to their New Braunfels facility from closing a plant in
Tennessee. The company used the CTTC to train their specialty welders.

Echostar, a Dishnet company, chose a Comal County location just
north of the city limits in 2004 as well. The company is now constructing an
uplink center and will employ forty (40) technical engineers to operate the
center.
Millinnium Packaging, a food packager, relocated their Austin
and San Antonio operations into an available building here in December of 2004.
Star Manufacturing, a metal stamper, expanded their operations
here in 2004. Star is a tier-3 supplier with a seat belt Tier 2.
