Centrally located between the Austin and San Antonio, the New Braunfels Municipal Airport offers the same clear skies and mild weather patterns that  provide nearly 300 days of sunshine a year and close proximity to international borders. Highly influenced by military surroundings, the New Braunfels Airport is the ideal location for the next generation of corporate and general aviation marketplace. The airport is located just 4 miles east of the IH-35 corridor; existing highways include IH-35, IH-10 and State Highway 46. It is popular among pilots due to its amenities and asphalt runways that are at or over a mile in length and aligned to reduce crosswind landing conditions.

The New Braunfels Municipal Airport (BAZ) was paved to support auxiliary B-25 training out of Randolph Air Force Base until 1969, when the U.S. Government transferred the airfield over to the city. Since then, BAZ has continued to thrive, now operating two FBO’s. The city of New Braunfels Municipal Airport’s function is aircraft fueling, operation and maintenance of the airport. NB Aero Service provides a wide range of services including aircraft fueling and maintenance, hangar storage, aircraft apron parking and tie-down services on a daily basis.

The FM 306 extension near the new retail development, Town Center of Creekside paves the way for easier access to BAZ and the recently adopted Airport Master Plan helps plans to increase traffic and business development . Complete with a $8.5 million dollar in improvements in T-Hangars, runways, drainage and planned signage, the airport also features a new $1.5 million Air Traffic Control Tower and a 5,000 square foot terminal built in 2001- equipped with a VIP pilots lounge, restrooms, showers and a meeting room for up to 75 people.
