Incubator Project

Ninety-percent of small business fail within the first year and thus was the case for New Braunfels. In order for a city to grow, it depends on a large number of small to large-scale businesses to help create a sustainable local economy. Local officials noticed a growing need in the community and began to research a way to fulfill the needs of homegrown and small businesses.

Celebrating a grand opening in September 2008, the Center for Entrepreneurship, is now promoting a full curriculum of basic business courses for anyone considering going into business or who may already be in business. After hiring Executive Director Mike Fitsko, The Center Board designed a basic business curriculum involving business plan development, marketing and advertising, legal issues for hiring, tax and accounting procedures, and financial management to name a few. The Center can offer a complete business incubator program with an emphasis on the culinary arts, basic business plan preparation, financing and working with banks and the importance of small business in New Braunfels, and how The Center can be helpful in assisting the young and startup business.
