For forty-three years, the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Randolph Air Force Base to honor and “Airman of the quarter”. Not only is New Braunfels a historically patriotic community, but it also realized the economic impact that Randolph has on the community. Many of Randolph’s finest made new Braunfels their home. The Airman of the Quarter Program was voted into the Chamber’s Program of Work to not only honor distinguished Airmen on their individual achievements, but to recognize Randolph Air Force Base and its impact, both abroad and locally.

Today’s Airman of the Quarter reception is usually held at the Chamber’s Honors Hall. The airman of the quarter committee invites local city and county dignitaries, the media, Chamber ambassadors - The Blue Coats, and the Airman’s guests to attend. The reception program includes a cocktail hour and presentations, hosted by the Chair of the Military Affairs Committee. The Chair presents the Airman with a mini-vacation package from the committee, including overnight accommodations, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as gift certificates to various retail stores in the community and admission certificates to local attractions.
