BREWERIES, DISTILLERIES & SALOONS

Yes, these are integral to our Cultural Heritage.  As our research continues on cultural heritage in New Braunfels, we recently discovered via a meticulous private collection, that there were indeed 15 plus saloons in downtown New Braunfels and upwards of 30 plus named establishments over a 20 year period.  These  were part of the social fabric of the lives of our industrious founders that had an incredibly diligent work ethic and equally matched philosophy of rewarding that hard work.  Interesting that we found documentation that New Braunfels had the first female Brew Master in Texas – Mrs. Guenther who took over when her husband suddenly passed away.   Here’s to more culture – Cheers!

MEMORIAL DAY - OFFICIAL KICK-OFF TO SUMMER

As we approach the official kick off to summer this memorial day we are trending toward a great season.  While river flows are challenging this season the entire southwestern U.S. is facing the same water woes; however, we still have more water recreation than anywhere else in Texas.  We encourage all inquiries about river activities to be referred to river outfitters as they know  what is the most accessible part of the rivers to enjoy on any given day.   Water recreation opportunities will be expanded when Schlitterbahn’s Tubenbach ride is completed later this summer.  Texas Ski Ranch has a “Little Bro” lake that has been added to help the younger kids in their quest to learn to wakeboard without a boat.  Landa Park’s Aquatic Complex is open and providing fun for generations of Texans.  All of our attractions in the area are open, staffed up, and ready to rock the Summer of 2011.

COLLABORATE MARKETPLACE TAKES PLACE IN HOUSTON
