NB 2020 SURVEY PART 1 COMPLETE
The first of multiple e-surveys to the membership is complete.
Approximately 20% of the membership completed the survey on-line the
last three weeks. Members were asked to rank over 18 community
issues over the next 10 years

HITTING THE GREEN BUS TOUR A SUCCESS
The inaugural "Hitting the
Green" Bus Tour was deemed a success as more than 50 site selectors
and commercial brokers boarded the buses for a tour of commercial
properties in New Braunfels. The day started off with a Danish and
coffee at the CTTC, where visitors had a chance to tour the local
workforce center.

CVB Receives Awards for Marketing
The
Chamber's CVB was recently awarded by the Texas Association of Convention
and Visitors Bureaus a first place award in the highest budget
category for best in Texas overall marketing campaign! The
Jump In campaign is a very cohesive brand and is consistently
delivered through print ads, outdoor, electronic, brochures,
press kits, and more.

The Business/Education Partnership committee of the
Chamber held their annual "Back to School Luncheon" at the Seekatz Opera House on August 13. More than 100 people attended this
event.

FOR PAC/TAC CARDS LOOMS
September 1 is the registration deadline for
the Chamber's popular Perfect Attendance and Teacher Appreciation
Card program that is sponsored by the Business-Education Partnership
Committee. It's FREE and easy to sign up.

CTTC SETS
ENROLLMENT RECORD
Central Texas Technology
Center has set a new high in the number of students enrolled for a
semester. As of August 18, more than 600 students were enrolled in
academic courses for the Fall 2009 semester. According to Chester Jenke,
Center Manager, this marks the first time more than 375 students have
been enrolled during a full semester.

DOWNTOWN FOCUS OF CHAMBER BOARD MEETING
The recent Chamber of
Commerce Board of Directors meeting focused on current efforts to
reinvigorate our historic Downtown. Mainstreet Coordinator Monique
Vernon led a panel composed of members of the Downtown Visioning
Committee and City Manager Mike Morrison.

SECOND QUARTER AIRMAN
HONORED
The Chamber and Randolph Air Force Base have partnered
for over 40 years to honor our military. The Chamber honored the
Airman of the Quarter from Randolph Air Force Base for the second quarter of
2009 at a reception in Honors Hall on August 20.

OUTER LOOP TASK FORCE MEETS
Meeting #5 of the Outer Loop
Task Force met at the Civic Center on August 17 to continue reviewing
the reports and plans prepared in 2007-08. The purpose of these
Task Force meetings is to evaluate the process followed by TXDOT and
two consultant engineering firms in the preparation of the current
plan prepared for the City and County.
