FOR ELDERLY CARE
Rap Council Chair Nolan Dietert was surprised
with a Chair of the Board Award in the field of elderly care at the Chamber
Board of Directors meeting. Up to six individuals are chosen for the Chair
of the Board Award each year.

CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP MOVES TOWARD BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS
The
Center's Board met for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday,
June 4. Monroe Miller, Board President, presided at the meeting.
General business was the primary focus, but ideas for creating more
visibility and services dominated the discussion.

BRAUNFELS FOUNDATION HONORS MORE MIDDLE SCHOOLERS
The Braunfels Foundation
Trust presented more awards to 7th and 8th
graders in the Comal and New Braunfels ISDs. Funding in part is
through the Harry and Christine Dierks Memorial Fund.

MAYOR'S SUMMIT FOCUSES ON TALENT PROJECT
The 3rd Mayor's Economic Summit
was held in the Civic-Convention Center Thursday, June 11. Approximately 50
invitees were in attendance. Attendees included Chamber board members
along with representatives of the city council, 4B board, EDF, NBU,
Commissioners Court, Airport board, Downtown, and other stakeholder groups
in local economic development efforts.

COALITION CONTINUES ORGANIZING
The Texas Greenbelt
Coalition has continued to grow as an important Clean, Green Technologies
Organization. A partnership started in October 2008, around the membership
of the Austin/San Antonio IH 35 Corridor Council boundaries, now boasts more
than 175 people on its Linked In network.

BRAUNFELS OUTER LOOP TASK FORCE
The NBOL Task Force
met for the third time on Mon. June 15, at the Civic Center in New
Braunfels. The Task Force, made up of more than 40 members
representing business, property owners, and governmental entities.
