NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETS
Comal County Commissioner Jay Millikin presented “A Groundwater Conservation District in the western Comal County” to the Chamber’s Natural Resources Committee on May 4 at Honors Hall. The committee will meet again on August 3.

NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETS
Comal County Commissioner Jay Millikin and Comal County Engineer addressed over 20 members at the Chamber’s Natural Resources Committee meeting on August 3. The topic was “The Real Question - Do we have enough groundwater for development in Comal County?”.
NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETS
Executive Director for Water Services for New Braunfels Utilities, Roger Biggers, addressed over 20 members at the Chamber’s Natural Resources Committee meeting on October 20. The topic was “The Edwards Aquifer Recovery Implementation Program (EARIP)”.
NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETS IN FEBRUARY
Over 20 members of the Natural Resources Committee met in Honors Hall on February 2. Guest presenter was Todd H. Votteler, Executive Manager of Intergovernmental Relations & Policy for the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority. Dr. Vottler presented “The Past Climate of South and Central Texas”.
NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETS IN MAY
The Chambers’ Natural Resources Committee met on Tuesday, May 3 at 5:15 p.m. in Honors Hall. Suzanne Williams, New Braunfels Utilities Business Development Manager addressed the committee on education partnership opportunities for the committee and NBU. The committee has been discussing the concept of a “project” that they could be involved in to accomplish the NB 2020 goal of water supply communications. Water conservation tips from NBU have already been added to the Chamber’s weekly Serving You electronic newsletter as part of the education partnership.
NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETS IN AUGUST
The Chamber’s Natural Resources Committee met on Tuesday, August 2 at 5:00 p.m. in Honors Hall for networking and introducing of GBRA’s newest board member, Rusty Brockman. At 5:15 p.m. the guest presenter, GBRA General Manager Bill West (pictured in photo) spoke about the Eagle Ford Shale oil/gas drilling and the need for water for the fracking process. An update on education partnership opportunities for the Natural Resources Committee and NBU was also presented.
NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETS IN OCTOBER
The Chamber’s Natural Resource Committee met on Tuesday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m. in Honors Hall for networking and at 5:15 p.m. Chair Lynn Lyndsay introduced GBRA board member and Chamber Economic Development Director Rusty Brockman for the presentation: “The Water Table - Price, Production, Protection” presented by GBRA’s General Manager Bill West (pictured in photo), Todd Votteler Government/Legislative Affairs Director, Alvin Schuerg CFO and Operations Director Jim Murphy. An update on education partnership opportunities for the Natural Resources Committee and NBU was also on the agenda.
NATURAL RESOURCES HOSTS FOCUS GROUP
The Chamber’s Natural Resources Committee along with New Braunfels Utilities hosted a focus group of business owners to Honors Hall on November 29. The purpose of the focus group was to allow business owners to come together to express their interests in resource conservation and how this impacts their business. The business owners also had an opportunity to share their ideas about tools they might need or want to help increase energy and water efficiency.
