What to Do
Fun, Fun, and more Fun!
Dive in to New Braunfels. There might be other places that have as many uses for water as New Braunfels does, but we don’t know any. Two clear, beautiful rivers wind through town – The Comal and the Guadalupe – and Canyon Lake is just minutes away. Slip into your bathing suit and go fishing, rafting, kayaking, tubing and swimming. Jump into Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort, rated America’s best water park, featuring 65 acres of water slides, tube chutes, three uphill water coasters,
a wave pool, inland surfing, children’s play areas and lots of other ways to keep cool.
If you love the outdoors, you’ll love New Braunfels! Drop into Natural Bridge Caverns, the largest show cave in Texas, and Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, a 400 acre park with native Texas wildlife and exotic species. Tour lovely Landa Park on a miniature train, enjoy the arboretum, swim at the largest spring fed pool in Texas, and view the largest springs in Texas. Relax in our nationally registered Historic District of Gruene. Peruse the special boutiques, dance at Texas oldest Dance Hall – Gruene
Hall, and dine on the banks of the Guadalupe river.
Shop downtown New Braunfels nestled around our bandstand on the Main Plaza. Historic outdoor murals, art gallery, and oldest German bakery in Texas are ready and waiting.
Discover your ancestors or enjoy ours at our three History Museums – Sophienburg, Conservation Plaza, and Heritage Village. Let the little ones dive into their own adventure at McKenna Children’s Museum.
Hold on to your hat… there’s much more.
