EVENT DESCRIPTION

The 45th annual Texas Legislative Conference is set for Thursday, March 24, 2011 and Friday, March 25, 2011 in the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center. The 2011 Texan of the Year, yet to be announced, will be presented a special award on Thursday evening, March 24. Previous honorees include Peter Holt, Rick Perry, T. Boone Pickens, Barbara Bush and Lady Bird Johnson. A half-day conference on Friday morning March 25 features top leaders in their field, participating in panel discussions on various topics ranging from border security, the state budget and redistricting. The event concludes with a luncheon featuring a prominent guest speaker. This year the conference is dedicated to former Conference Chair State Representative Edmund Kuempel.
