Guadalupe Basin Coalition Monitors Our Water Water, a very important resource to all of us, is becoming a topic for everyone to be involved with. Your Chamber formed the Guadalupe Basin Coalition in 2003, and because of this active group water issues from Uvalde to the Gulf of Mexico are being monitored, discussed, reviewed and studied daily. Representatives from more than ten communities, government agencies, chambers, water districts, lake groups, and river management work year round to protect the quantity and quality of the Edwards Aquifer, Guadalupe River, Comal Springs and River, Canyon Lake, San Marcos Springs and River, Blanco River, and the estuaries at the Gulf of Mexico. The GBC met on January 30 to hear a report from their lobbyist and to discuss legislative strategies for the 81st Legislative Session. New Braunfels’ representatives include members of the Chamber, City, County and NBU.
