The Railroad Museum
The New Braunfels Historic Railroad and Modelers Society
maintains the Railroad Museum in a restored Victorian
station located adjacent to the Union Pacific tracks in
downtown New Braunfels. The museum houses several model
displays, including HO and N scale model train layouts,
in addition to artifacts of the railroad era. A
teletype, c. 1938, has been restored to working
condition. Restoration and remodeling on the interior
began in 1985, and the building is now as it appeared in
the early twentieth century. In 1994 the exterior of the
building was also restored. Behind the station sits a
real MOPAC caboose and a saddle-tank steam engine.
The NBHRMS is open to all members who are interested in
the popular scales from N to G and to those who are
interested in promoting railroad history. Each April the
Society sponsors the New Braunfels Model Railroad
Jamboree at the Civic Center.
Hours are Thursday thru Monday, 12PM to 4PM
